CSA Scientific and Technical Content Added to Dialog
CARY, N.C., USA (June 13, 2005)
Dialog, a Thomson
(NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC) business and a leading worldwide
provider of online-based information services and
integrated information solutions, and research publisher
CSA announced today that they have signed a new content
agreement.
More than 30 CSA files of scientific and technical
research are being added to Dialog services throughout
2005, the companies said. The CSA databases will
be offered through Dialog to the corporate and government
markets.
"We're delighted to be working with
CSA to bring its outstanding content to Dialog users," said
David Brown, Dialog DataStar general manager. "For
more than three decades, Dialog has been the world
leader in providing access to a comprehensive portfolio
of scientific, technical and medical research from
around the world. We will continue to maintain that
leadership position by adding unique, high-value
content like CSA to our services."
Three CSA databases — CSA Technology Research
Database, CSA Aerospace and High Technology Database
and METADEX — are available for subscription
through Dialog now.
Dialog is the only content aggregator currently
offering CSA Technology Research Database. This comprehensive
mega-file comprises three categories of content — engineering,
high technology and materials research. CSA Aerospace
and High Technology Database provides unique coverage
of research in aeronautics, astronautics and space
sciences. METADEX is a complete source of metals
and alloys information.
Other CSA databases to be added include files composed
of research on engineering, environmental sciences,
life sciences, materials, social/library sciences
and technology. When fully loaded, the new CSA files
will nearly double the amount of CSA content that
previously had been available through Dialog.
"We believe offering CSA content via Dialog
will provide great value for researchers. CSA is
very pleased to be working with Dialog again to provide
more value to researchers," said Matt Dunie,
president of CSA.
Custom CSA report templates, e-Journal Links and
links to related research materials are available
for CSA files. Searchers can use the custom templates
to quickly process their research into a desired
format for distribution to customers, managers and
others in their organization.
In addition to the newly offered CSA files, Dialog
online services provide access to more than 480 million
documents of scientific, technical and medical research,
including scholarly and professional literature,
conference proceedings, business and government research
reports, business directories, news and more. Dialog
also offers a comprehensive array of intellectual
property research, including patent and trademark
records from around the world.
CSA, formerly known as Cambridge Scientific Abstracts,
is a unit of Cambridge Information Group.
