Dialog Unveils New CSA Research Alerts Service
CARY, N.C., USA (October 5,
2005)
Dialog,
a Thomson business, announced today that it is now
offering Alerts subscriptions to the highly valued
CSA research databases for its customers in the corporate
and government markets.
Dialog is the only content aggregator providing
access to the CSA Technology Research Database, and
Alerts subscriptions to that database (File 23) are
available immediately. Alerts subscriptions for the
more than 30 databases of CSA scientific and technical
research being added to Dialog will be available
in upcoming months. The CSA databases being added
cover research in the fields of aeronautics, astronautics,
engineering, environmental sciences, life sciences,
materials, metals and alloys, space sciences, social/library
sciences and technology, among others.
The new Alerts subscriptions will allow Dialog customers
to receive e-mail notifications when relevant new
CSA research is added to the Dialog® online
service. The content provided by CSA is used worldwide
by researchers, engineers, information professionals
and others in a broad array of industries and scientific,
medical and technical fields.
“We are committed to helping our customers
maximize the value of the content provided by Dialog,
within the context of their budget and organizational
needs,” said Viji Krishnan, Dialog vice president,
publisher management. “For those customers
who place an emphasis on current awareness, Alerts
offer an efficient strategy for research management.”
As part of the CSA Alerts subscription, trained
information specialists in the Dialog Alerts Bureau
will develop a search strategy for customers to precisely
match their research-monitoring needs.
In addition to Alerts, Dialog also facilitates access
to electronic journal subscriptions, provides links
to related materials, and offers a broad selection
of custom report templates through its DialogLink
5 software. Searchers can use these templates to
quickly transform their research into professionally
formatted reports for distribution to decision makers
and others in their organizations.
