
Thomson Scientific, Dialog Sponsor Award for Top Information Professional in Australia and New Zealand

sponsorship of the Australia & New Zealand Chapter
of the Special Library Association’s (SLA)
Information Professional of the Year Award, and joined
chapter leaders in calling for nominations.
The announcement was made at a special session
during the Australian Library and Information Association
(ALIA) Information Online 2007 conference this week
in Sydney, Australia, at which past winners of the
Australia & New Zealand Information Professional
of the Year Award were also honored.
The award, sponsored by Thomson Scientific and
Dialog for the last three years, is open to all information
professionals in Australia and New Zealand. A special
panel of SLA Australia and New Zealand Chapter board
members and regional Thomson Scientific and Dialog
management will select the winner, who will be announced
at the SLA 98 th Annual Conference, June 2–7, 2007,
in Denver, CO, USA. The recipient of the 2007 Australia & New
Zealand Information Professional of the Year Award
will receive a prize of AUD$2,000.

place in this region," said Sonya Donoghue,
current president of the SLA Australia and New Zealand
Chapter. "It is important for us to continue
to recognize the achievements of our best information
professionals."
