Thomson Scientific Sponsors Fourth Annual SLA Award for Australian and New Zealand Information Professionals

Thomson Scientific, part of The Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC) and leading provider of information solutions to the worldwide research and business communities, today announced their continued sponsorship of the Australia and New Zealand Chapter of the Special Library Association’s (SLA) Informational Professional of the Year Award, and joined chapter leaders in calling for nominations.

The announcement was made during the VALA2008 14th Biennial Conference and Exhibition this week in Melbourne, Australia. The award, sponsored by Thomson Scientific since 2005, is open to all information professionals in Australia and New Zealand. A special panel of SLA Australia and New Zealand Chapter board members and regional Thomson Scientific management will select the winner, who will be announced at the SLA Annual Conference, June 2008, in Seattle. The recipient of the 2008 award will receive a prize of AUD2,000.

Nominations should be emailed to Sonya Donoghue, Past President of the SLA Australia and New Zealand Chapter, at . Any questions regarding the nomination process and selection criteria should also be directed to Sonya. The deadline for submitting nominations is May 1, 2008. Individuals may nominate themselves or others.
